Swimming

Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires using one’s entire body to move through the water.  Play takes place in a pool or open water (eg, in the sea or lake).  Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with various distance events in the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and individual medley.  In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can participate in a freestyle or medley relay.  A medley relay consists of four swimmers, who will each give a different stroke, which is ranked as backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle.

Each stroke requires a set of specific techniques to swim;  In the competition, there are different rules regarding acceptable form for each individual stroke.  There are also rules on what types of swimsuits, caps, jewelry and injury tape are allowed in competitions.  Although many sports injuries are possible for competitive swimmers, such as tendinitis in the shoulders or knees, the sport also has many health benefits.

  Benefits Of Swimming:–

  Swim Makes You Goal Orientated

Swimming gives children and adults something to try.  Whether it is hitting kickboards all over the pool, improving a lap time, or recovering from injury with water rehabilitation, setting goals and achieving them is important.  The skills swimmers learn in the pool to realize and achieve such goals are skills that can also be used outside the pool.

Kids Who Swim Become More Active Than The Kid Who Don’t Do Swimming

Swimming is an important activity to help cope with childhood obesity rates, and is also fun.  All three elements of physical activity have been recommended to keep children healthy in swimming: endurance, strength and flexibility.  Swimming provides children with the tools, skills and dedication to maintain healthy lives as adults.

Swimming makes you smarter than others

This is not only good for class and work, but it is also beneficial for us because we are also of age.  Regular exercise reduces inflammation and insulin resistance in the brain, which promotes new cell growth in the brain.  Swimming also helps you to be happier and it will improves mood, anxiety, and stress, which increases the brain’s ability to think more efficiently.

Swimming Teaches You Team Building Skills

Swimmers on teams or swimmer classes have superior team-building skills.  Swimmers learn to work together, encourage each other, communicate and be leaders.  All these skills translate into effective leaders in adulthood.  Team-building skills encourage collaboration, goal orientation, motivation, strategy development, and coordination, all resulting in successful careers and professional relationships.
