Humans obtained food in two ways: hunting and gathering and agriculture, which gave modern humans a predominantly omnivorous diet.  Worldwide, humanity has created many cuisines and culinary arts, including a wide variety of ingredients, herbs, spices, techniques, and cuisines.

Today, most of the food energy needed for the world’s growing population is supplied by the food industry.

It has its origin in most edible plants.
